Fantastic location, brilliant views, but make sure you ask for/insist on a room with a view. The back rooms are like prison cells: astonishing anyone thought to build them My room was beautiful, modern and comfortable, with breathtaking views The gym is excellent The surrounding countryside breathtaking
The buffets are mediocre and expensive The maid service was poor, there was dust and the windows were dirty. (And I don't usually notice these things) The reception was extremely slow, seemed happy to chat while keeping a queue of people waiting, and were smiley but unhelpful I couldn't get a map of local walks in the hills which would greatly have improved my hike that day Worst was the fact that you couldn't switch off or turn down the air conditioning, there was a constant cold draught in the room. Even on a hot July weekend I was sitting in my room with a pullover on, with the collar turned up
The standard room itself was very well appointed, one of the best. The view from the front of the hotel and the locality are just amazing. The third best thing would be the fabulous breakfast, dont miss it for anything.
Paid parking at 150Nok per day even for hotel guests! (strange way of making money). Annoying change of wireless internet password every day (totally pointless). Very annoying TV and cable setting, with out some 10 skips you could not reach a list of not very attractive selection of 9-10 free to air channels (this happens every time you switch on the tv)
Outstanding People. Polite, helpful, foregoing and caring. Clean and neat. Food of superior quality and fine presentation. Waiters, bar tenders and reception are great people, a special hello to Siw :-) I can recommend this place to any demanding client, you will be a happy traveler believe me..
The location was perfect with lovely views of the city. Breakfast was amazing with a large selection. The journey to the city centre was easy with a train that runs every 15 mins just a 5 minute walk away. I recommend this hotel highly.
If you come to Oslo be sure to take a lot of money
The best is the surounding of the hotel, good view and rich breakfast.
They give me a wrong room, I book a double room for single use but they give me a single room since I already book a lots of hotel in my travel and forgot about the room which I book. The room also not quite clear, my skin extremely itchy during I stayed at the room.
What a refreshing change after staying in two tired overly priced hotels. The room was meticulously clean and prepared. The people of the hotel were friendly and made sure you were cared for. The breakfast was outstanding. The location was fantastic for a ski jumping enthusiast!
Just don't look for a nearby grocery store.
Lovley hotel, quiet and good services.
The personel was not that helpful and a bit uninterested.Other than that it was very nice
Comfortable, Warm and Friendly with a beautiful view from reception unfortunately we could not take advantage of all the facilities as we were visiting family in the area.
I feel to charge for basic TV is unneccesary, usually you are able to see the news channel at a minimum without a charge, as we were out most of the time we did not need any other programmes so did not pay for the TV. Also a small hotel leaflet explaining the facilities and restaurants would have been helpful. Also our room did not have a view (Room 3120) although my sister in laws room 390 had a lovely view and was larger, for the same price.
The hotel itself, and the food.
There is something about the deposit, beinbg charged upon arrival, and still you have to pay it once again by checking out. This means that a lot of money is "floating around" somewhere, before I get it back again. Thisn is not a good system !
Pene rom og komfortable senger Nydelig frokost
I liked everything about this hotel. The view from my room was amazing, the staff were so welcoming and helpful and the price of the room, by Oslo standards, was unbeatable. The metro station was a 5-minute walk away and it easily connected me to the train station and the airport. I especially appreciated the breakfast- the buffet had so much to choose from and it was all fresh and well-prepared. I am looking forward to staying here again on future visits.
The walk from the metro was a bit uphill and less manageable if you have a lot to carry, but I believe there are buses that you could take from the station as well.
Best position in Oslo if you want to see Oslo from above! In an area very quiet and peaceful! The architecture of the building is amazing! Nice room, spacious, with excellent city or mountain view! Nice spa! Very generous parking. The restaurant have a very good menu! Nice manager!!!
The stuff is very unprepared for this kind of work! Most of them are un polite, but thanks to the manager, at the end, we fill good! We ask at the room service for some fruits first at the reception and they send me to find some at the bar! Second we ask at the room service and they offer us some pizza! The cleaning of the bathroom was not very good, even if we speak with the cleaning personal! So, if you want a pleasant stay speak to the manager!
this is an excellent hotel, fantastic views, excellent breakfast, would definitly go again
Beautiful view on the city, clean rooms and excellent breakfast choice. Staff seemed generally reliable.
Unlike other similar hotels (4-5 stars) fewer benefits provided (eg we all expected to find standard items like toothpaste and slippers in our rooms and were disappointed not to see them). The SPA/sauna facilities should also be improved for a hotel relying on the image of a "quasi-countryside"/healthy location. Finally, transport is painfully expensive from the city and even using the metropolitan train system the walk from the stop to the hotel was quite painfully (especially when carrying bags/suitcases etc). Maybe establish a shuttle bus for that?
Wonderful place with a great view over Oslofjord. And it is easy to get to city center. Wonderful peaceful sourroundings very close to Holmenkollen skijump. Beautiful area for long walks or cross country skiing (in wintertime). We liked it a lot and will for sure come back to stay in this hotel. We got a reasonable summer price, early booking, and it was all in all a great experience. Dinner buffet is also affordable at the hotel. No need to go to city center (Oslo) to buy dinner.
Some rooms have a great view and som not. I guess it depends on the price of the room. But anyway there´s a great view outside the hotel, and from the bar/hall.
